Most divorces take around 4 months from filing to being finalised, provided the paperwork is in order and there are no delays.
Not always. Joint applications usually don’t require attendance. For sole applications, you may need to attend if there are children under 18 or if the court requests it.
You must be separated for at least 12 months with no reasonable chance of reconciliation, and meet the residency/citizenship requirements (e.g., Australian citizen, permanent resident, or ordinarily resident in Australia for 12 months).
